Website University of Leeds

The University of Leeds or the University of Leeds is one of the largest universities in the UK, with about 7,500 full-time employees and 35,000 full-time students.

Would you like to play a central creative role within a rapidly expanding team? Do you have a talent for developing new design concepts? Are you able to interpret the ideas of others as well as communicate your own ideas clearly?

We are looking for a digitally focused professional who can bring originality and a creative flair to the Digital Education Service’s team of graphic designers, animators and learning technologists.

You will work on high profile cross-university projects to support the design of online courses on external platforms including FutureLearn and Coursera, and the University’s Virtual Learning Environment (Minerva).

This exciting role will suit a dynamic individual with proven experience in digital creative design, a willingness to learn and adapt on the job, and with excellent communication and organisational skills. We’re a friendly team that’s grown rapidly in the last few years, so someone able, ambitious and amiable would fit right in.

You will have responsibility for the production of design concepts and engaging multimedia visuals for the University’s portfolio of online, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and credit-bearing courses. You should be able to evidence experience of defining brand and visual identities, as well as designing web-based content and promotional material.

This role will involve working closely with the Creative Lead and Creative and Learning Technology Manager, as well as with Content and Production personnel within the Digital Education Service.

What we’ll do for you

  • 25 days paid holiday every year, and approximately 15.5 days off for bank holidays and days when the University is closed (depending on how many hours you work).
  • Generous maternity, paternity and adoption leave.
  • Sickness benefits increasing with your length of employment.
  • Participation in the staff review and development scheme.
  • Access to a range of policies promoting work life balance and flexible working.
